Yes, we cover you when you’re driving off-road so long as you’re obeying the law, taking sensible precautions, and not driving on private land without permission. For example, some roads require snow chains, and nana’s VW Golf probably shouldn’t go bush-bashing. The things you’re definitely not covered for are competing or participating in, or testing the car in preparation for a:
• Race
• Contest
• Stunt
• Motor sport event
• Competition course
In addition to the above we don’t cover any reckless act by you, or by the driver of your car or any person acting with your encouragement, assistance or expressed or implied consent to the reckless act (such as street racing, burnouts, donuts, driving into water, illegally using a mobile phone, driving at excessive speed).
We do, however cover driver education courses that don’t involve speeds over 100km/h or timing.
