- You can claim online
- We’ll ask you to pay your excess (unless you can prove the other driver was at fault)
When you make a claim, we’ll ask you to pay an excess up front whether you’re at fault or not. If we determine you’re not at fault, and you can provide the name, address and registration number of the other driver or drivers involved, we’ll refund the excess back to you.
When you make a claim, we’ll usually ask you to pay an excess when you first make your claim. But if you don’t, it doesn’t impact the cover under your policy or ability to make a claim. If you or the driver of your vehicle didn’t contribute to the accident (this means the other driver was entirely at fault), and you can provide the name and address of the at-fault driver and registration number of the at-fault vehicle , we’ll waive the excess. You may also need to provide us with evidence, such as a police report or a statement from a witness.
If you can’t supply the name and address of the at-fault driver and registration number of the at-fault vehicle, we will not be able to waive your excess. However, this doesn’t impact the cover under your policy, or your ability to make a claim.
To pay your excess after you’ve lodged a claim, log in to Bingle Self Service and look for the ‘Actions’ box that pops up next to your claim. From there, click ‘Pay excess’ and follow the prompts.
3. If you make a claim with us
You can book your assessment online and you’ll be directed to our repairs booking screen. On this page we’ll give you a list of our nearest approved repairers, and you can nominate a booking time to bring in your car. Providing all the information we need will help us to understand how the incident happened and who was involved so we can progress your claim as quickly as possible. We’ll take care of the rest for you.
If you request a cash settlement instead, we will pay you the amount of the assessed quote from our repairer. This is a cash payment that is made if your claim is covered under your policy and we don't repair or replace your car, or when we refund other approved claim costs – for example towing and storage, emergency repairs or damaged personal property.
If we don’t authorise the repairs, you will not be entitled to the lifetime guarantee.
4. We’ll cover all reasonable costs if you need a tow from the scene of the incident
If you’ve had an accident and your car isn’t safe to drive, we can organise a tow 24/7 to our nearest approved repairer. Simply call us on . Make sure you keep all receipts and invoices so we can reimburse you come claim time.
